Mahesh Babu in Legal Trouble: South Indian superstar Mahesh Babu has landed in legal trouble again—this time involving a real estate scam. A legal notice has been issued to the actor by the Ranga Reddy District Consumer Forum in Telangana over alleged fraudulent land deals.

Legal Notice for Promoting Fraudulent Real Estate Company

According to reports, the case stems from a complaint filed by a Hyderabad-based doctor. The complainant claims to have paid ₹34.8 lakh for plots marketed by Sai Surya Developers, only to later discover that the plots didn’t exist.

The doctor stated that Mahesh Babu publicly endorsed the company, which influenced her decision to invest. As a result, Mahesh Babu has been named as the third respondent in the case, accused of misleading the public.

Not the First Time Mahesh Babu’s Name Surfaced

This isn’t the first time Mahesh Babu has been linked to this controversy. In April 2024, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) summoned him for questioning in connection with a money laundering investigation involving Sai Surya Developers and the Surana Group.

The issue centers around their “Green Meadows” project, which reportedly failed to deliver promised plots. Mahesh Babu was the brand ambassador for the project and allegedly received a payment of around ₹5.9 crore through cheque and cash.

Is Mahesh Babu a Suspect in the Scam?

Sources close to the ED suggest that Mahesh Babu is not listed as a primary accused and may not have been aware of the fraudulent activities when he agreed to promote the project. However, his name repeatedly surfacing in this case could damage his public image and reputation.

Upcoming Films: Mahesh Babu's Focus on SSMB29

Mahesh Babu was last seen in ‘Guntur Kaaram’ (2023), directed by Trivikram Srinivas. He is now working on the much-awaited SSMB29, an action-adventure film directed by SS Rajamouli.

Described as an “Indiana Jones-style jungle adventure”, the film also stars Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran, with a screenplay written by Vijayendra Prasad. The project is expected to push Mahesh Babu into a global spotlight.

What’s Next for Mahesh Babu Amid Legal Heat?

As Mahesh steps into a new phase of his career, this legal dispute could create setbacks. No official statement has been released by his team so far. It remains to be seen how the actor handles the legal allegations and public perception.
